NEW SURREY HOME is now open and taking residents!
In July 2009, Nellsar was proud to announce the opening of its brand new state-of-the-art Care Centre, PRINCESS CHRISTIAN. Since then, we have provided care for many new residents, but still have beds available.
Princess Christian is a 96 bedded Nursing & Residential Home suitable for elderly people with a diagnosis of Dementia. Set off a private road in leafy Knaphill, the Home is close to Woking, Surrey.
Princess Christian has stood on this land for almost 100 years as a care home, formerly as a Home for elderly war veterans. Re-built to look identical from the outside, but to modern building specifications, the interiors have been transformed into purpose-built facilities for residents with Dementia or related illnesses.
All 96 bedrooms have en-suite facilities, optional flat screen TVs and telephone points. There are several lounges and dining rooms, hairdressers, a cinema, a sensory room, assisted bathing facilities and landscaped, secure grounds. The Home has been decorated and focussed around Stirling university's research into creating Dementia specific environments that are both calming and stimulating as required, with the end result being a clear focus on maintaining and developing life skills amongst it's residents.
Care is round the clock, with qualified nurses on duty 24 hours a day and highly trained care staff delivering care from a person centred approach that makes each individual's capabilites' the fulcrum around which their particular package is built.
