St Winifreds is a well established home in the peaceful seaside town of Deal, the previous home to the much missed Royal Marines. We are surrounded by lots of character (including the old smugglers) and we are within easy reach of 3 castles, one of which is still home to the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. For anyone with plenty of energy, we are also surrounded by the highest quality golf courses, for playing or watching, as nearby Sandwich hosts some of the finest competitions. Our home has 55 beds, designed to meet the needs of both residential frail elderly and people over 55 with a diagnosis of dementia. We also offer six separate large lounges with comfortable easy chairs, large screen TVs and separate dining areas. We also offer well kept private gardens, one for residential residents and a secure garden for our EMI unit. All the bedrooms are decorated with care and consideration and to a high standard - All have comfy beds, easy chairs bed side phones, TVs and nurse call systems, most of the rooms have a spacious en-suite facility. The home also has two lifts for easy access in all areas. Much of the home has been purpose built and has been designed to suit the particular needs of the client. St Winifreds have entertainers who specialize in engaging people of this age group either with sing songs, arts and crafts, bingo sessions or musical afternoons, we can also provide an on site activities co-ordinator who works with the clients on a day to day basis. We will also have gardening in the summer months and clients can also enjoy baking if they so wish. We also offer outings to our clients whether it is a mystery tour or a cream tea or maybe the pantomime in the winter months. We also enjoy a close connection to the local school and the residents are always invited to carol concerts and nativity plays. For residents unable to venture out, the school also come to us for carol concerts. There are many other optional services available including: a weekly hairdresser or barber, a chiropodist, and a fully qualified physiotherapist for an additional fee.
