Dakota flypast at Loose Valley Care Home

On Wednesday 5 June, we will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy at Loose Valley Care Home.

Dakotas will take to the skies over Kent, taking off from Duxford Airfield and will be flying to Normandy, France. Around 35 Dakotas, who played a vital role in the success of Normandy, will be escorted by spitfires, hurricanes and mustangs – bringing together the largest amount of planes into action once again.

At 2:37pm in the afternoon, the planes will fly past Maidstone, so we are looking forward to catching sight of them from our conservatory.

The forecast says ‘sunshine and cloud’, so let’s hope we get a great view. If not we should definitely hear them!!

We will all enjoy a day of D-Day stories and reminiscing together.
