Last week at Hengist Field Care Home, we were delighted to receive some special eggs, which were bought in to our Home by ‘The Incredible Egg Company‘ on Monday 4 June.
By Tuesday 5 June, the eggs had started hatching and by the Wednesday, all 6 eggs had hatched into cute baby ducklings, much to our excitement!
Our residents have been enjoying looking after them ever since. They’ve loved holding them and feeling their soft feathers.
They leave us on Thursday this week, but lucky for us 3 of our staff are going to keep them, so hopefully we will still see them and get updated on their progress.
Amidst all the excitement of the ducks, our residents enjoyed a super pub lunch on Wednesday 6 June at The Maypole in Borden.
We all loved the outing and food – scampi and chips, as well as knickerbocker glories, were on the menu. Delicious!
