Halloween fun and armchair Olympics at Abbotsleigh Care Home

We had a wonderful calendar of activities last week here at Abbotsleigh Care Home.

We very much enjoyed creating spooky decorations to put up around our Home to celebrate Halloween. We got busy carving some impressive pumpkins and painting black cat decorations, and our staff dressed up in some scary costumes. We even had pumpkin soup on offer! We all really enjoyed the freaky fun.

We also had an outing with some of our residents to Frankie’s Coffee Shop in Staplehurst to enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee one afternoon. We sampled some delicious home-made sausage rolls and biscuits during the trip – and some of our residents tucked into some amazing raspberry roulade!

Phil came into Abbotsleigh during the week to run an ‘Armchair Olympics‘ session – which included indoor mini hockey and magnetic darts – and some of our ladies and gents managed to win several prizes! It’s always great fun and a super way for us to engage with our residents and keep them active.

Reuben our PAT dog came in to see us, which is something we always look forward to, and our hairdresser came in for a visit.

We also hosted a coffee morning and had plenty of one-to-one time with our ladies and gents, making crafts, reading the newspapers and completing crosswords.
