A few weeks ago at Abbotsleigh Care Home, our Activities Team enjoyed a lovely chat with two of our ladies about Hop Picking. Our ladies remember going hop picking and were engrossed in watching the Kent Hop Pickers documentary – it was lovely to see them enjoy the programme.
They shared their experiences and Ivy said that the children were not allowed to go and play until they had picked enough hops. They used to have so much fun and met in the evenings for a get-together with other families – singing and drinking beer!
