Next Thursday 20 June is Ascot week and we are going to be holding an ‘afternoon at the races’ here at Loose Valley Care Home, which we’re getting excited about!
We’ll get fully into the spirit of the occasion with our staff and residents dressing in their Sunday best. We’ll even get some fascinators and hats to wear!
Our Chef is going to make some scones, to serve with clotted cream and strawberry jam, so we can all savour a proper cream tea. We’ll have some fresh strawberries too.
We’re going to organise a fun sweepstake on the horses and pick a horse for each of our residents. We’ll randomly select horses from a hat and the first pulled out will win a grand prize. They’ll also be prizes for second and third place runners up.
To keep our ‘heads in the game’, we’ll also be running a quiz on horses and racing – so start revising now!
