We were very excited to hold a seaside-themed lunch in the dining room at Lulworth House Residential Care Home last week, which was especially for those residents who were unable to go out on our recent seaside trip.
To get into the mood, we decorated our dining room with seaside bunting, palm trees and colourful table pieces. We also we made our own themed decorations, including painted stones and seaside pictures, which we put around the dining room.
Our resident May particularly enjoyed painting the seaside pictures and was very skilful. She told us that she used to attend an art school in Maidstone – so it was lovely to see her rekindle her talent and share her artwork with us.
Our ladies and gents thoroughly enjoyed their fish and chip (or mash!) lunches…and loved being ‘beside the sea’ in our Home for the afternoon!
