DESIGN A DESSERT
With the Platinum Jubilee weekend fast approaching, we’ve launched a deliciously fun competition across our Nellsar Homes to see who can create the most magnificent Jubilee dessert, fit for a Queen!
We’ve challenged our Recreation and Well-Being Teams and Chefs to collaborate with their residents to reminisce about favourite puddings they’ve enjoyed in the past and come up with something special for the Jubilee celebrations.
Launching the competition, Nellsar’s Recreation and Well-Being Manager Viv Stead said:
“We would like everybody to be involved in this fun competition – a true team effort! Our residents will have their traditional favourites – get them involved, have some tasting days! Make it fun, make it messy, make it delicious!
If it’s fit for a Queen, then it’s fit for our wonderful residents!
The Platinum Jubilee celebrations will really resonate with our residents, the Queen’s coronation will have been watched by many of them, so let’s make it a time for them to remember now!”
ENTRIES, JUDGING AND PRIZES
There are cash prizes for our top three entries who will win money for their Homes’ resident fund:
- 1st prize – £200
- 2nd prize – £100
- 3rd prize – £50
Entries (photos, recipe, description and name of the dessert) are to be submitted by Wednesday 8 June and will be judged by Viv and Nellsar’s Catering Manager Adrian Silaghi.
Winners will be announced on Monday 13 June – we can’t wait to see the scrumptious creations!
