In this special Jubilee year, we’re on the hunt to find Nellsar’s best Royal-themed garden!
Residents, staff, family and friends are all encouraged to get involved in the competition to spruce up their Home’s flower beds, pots and hanging baskets so they are fit for royalty!
- Will your garden be ‘red, white and blue’?
- Will it feature a royal palace, London icons or the crown jewels?
- Impress us with your creativity, colour, team work and Jubilee-theme!
The purpose of the competition is to get outdoors and have some fun – the perfect opportunity for our teams to express their inner creativity and take pride in their work.
What are we looking for?
- Creativity: How well the Jubilee theme has been executed in the garden design.
- Collaboration: How well our staff teams have worked with and included residents.
- Presentation: How well presented and eye-catching the garden looks.
Viv Stead, Recreation and Well-Being Manager at Nellsar, said:
“What better occasion to bring staff, residents and their families together than with a royal-themed gardening competition to commemorate the longest-serving monarch in British history. We’re all still buzzing from the recent Jubilee celebrations and want to keep the party going throughout the summer, so we’re encouraging everyone across our Homes to get out in the sunshine and create their Jubilee-inspired gardens. We can’t wait to see and share all the royal-themed gardens with everyone connected to the Nellsar family.”
Entries, judging and prizes
This Nellsar competition will run through the summer into August. Photos and a description of each garden entry should be submitted to Marketing@Nellsar.com by Friday 19 August.
Our judges will be Nellsar’s Operations Director Glenda Osmotherly and Recreation and Well-Being Manager Viv Stead.
Winning Homes will be announced on Thursday 25 August.
There are cash prizes for our Homes’ Residents’ Funds on offer – £200, £100 and £50 for first, second and third place, respectively.
