It was ‘Pet Therapy Day’ here at St Winifreds Care Home on Thursday 14 June.
We were delighted to welcome ‘Pinky‘, a 38 inch tall Palomino Shetland Pony, into our Home to visit our residents.
She arrived at 2.30pm and spent time with each of our ladies and gents in the nursing wing, in their individual rooms.
Our residents absolutely loved the 2 hour session, chatting and stroking Pinky and feeding her apples; some of them couldn’t believe a pony had walked into their bedroom and some even cried as they were so thrilled!
It was very special seeing the joy Pinky’s visit brought. A memorable afternoon was had by everyone.
