We are thrilled to announce that Sylvia Stock, friend and supporter of Princess Christian Care Home, has been shortlisted for the ‘Unpaid Carer Award’ at the forthcoming Regional Great British Care Awards in the South East.
The team at Princess Christian had no hesitation in nominating Sylvia for the award after her years of involvement with their Home, where her husband Brian was resident for many years. Sylvia has been a beacon of support to many relatives going through a dementia journey with a loved one and has been passionately involved with the Friends of Princess Christian – a non-profit organisation of residents, relatives and staff. Her books have encouraged and offered useful tips to families and professional carers alike.
Speaking about her nomination, Sylvia commented;
“Through Friends of Princess Christian Care Home I have enjoyed supporting many aspects of the care services. As I experienced the Alzheimer’s journey with my husband, I turned my sorrow into solutions to help others by offering a listening ear to staff and relatives. I am really moved by this nomination.”
The winner of this prestigious category will be announced at the Gala Dinner which takes place on Saturday 9 November at The Hilton Hotel, Brighton.
