National Activity Providers and Professionals Week 2026 runs from 19–23 January and is an important annual celebration dedicated to recognising the creativity, compassion and commitment of Activity Providers and Professionals who bring joy and connection to care settings across the UK. The week highlights the vital role these teams play in enhancing well-being, promoting culture and enriching everyday life for people living in care.
Across Nellsar, our Recreation and Well-being Teams bring this spirit to life every single day. Their passion is central to life in our Homes, as they deliver meaningful, person-centred activities that encourage engagement and social connection. From themed events and celebrations to gentle exercise, crafts and reminiscence sessions – their work helps create vibrant, welcoming communities for our residents.
To mark the week, our Recreation and Well-being Team members were celebrated across Nellsar with certificates, gifts and cakes – a small token of thanks for the joy and care they bring to our Homes all year round.
Viv Stead, Nellsar’s Head of Recreation and Well-being, commented: “As we proudly join the National Activity Providers Association once again, we celebrate the dedication – together with the wonderful, joyful madness – of our incredible Recreation and Well-being Teams! Whether they’re covered in paint, flour or glitter, dressed as a unicorn or Father Christmas, or closely followed by a cat or chicken, these are the people who bring our Homes to life. Through meaningful, stimulating activities and endless moments of fun, they enrich our residents’ lives every single day, making a truly lasting difference.”
