Congratulations to Harry and Meghan!
We celebrated the Royal Wedding here at Abbotsleigh Care Home on Saturday 19 May and got out our bunting to get us all in the mood for a party!
Some of our residents kindly gave permission for their own wedding photos to be displayed. We had pictures of Reg, Pearl, Jean, Lois and Kevin on their wedding days. Some were from a very long time ago and they all looked happy and beautiful.
One of our Activities Team members, Miranda, brought in her own wedding dress, worn on 17 September 1994. It has been on display in both lounges for two weeks and the residents have loved looking at it and talking about their own weddings.
We really enjoyed watching Harry and Meghan’s big day on the television, with tea and cake. We also had Harry and Meghan colouring sheets and there was some super colouring to be seen.
We were delighted that some family members visited and watched the wedding along with our residents and staff. A fantastic day and a wonderful reason to celebrate.
