Singer Lainey King entertains Princess Christian Care Home residents

There was a wonderful atmosphere in Princess Christian Care Home’s Knaphill unit yesterday, as residents and staff enjoyed a wonderful hour of music from singer Lainey King.

Lainey delighted everyone with her choice of well known tunes, including songs from The Carpenters, The Righteous Brothers, The Drifters, Stevie Wonder and more! She played some favourite requests and enjoyed interacting with everyone, whilst impressing her audience with her beautiful voice.

Many residents and staff joined in, clapping, waving, singing and dancing. There were some amazing dance moves on show, including Manager Mario’s dazzling twist, which set the dance floor alight! It was so special to see everyone coming together, taking part and having fun.

Recreation and Well-Being Manager Christine commented;

“Wow, Lainey was fabulous! I am going to ask her to come every Wednesday as everyone loved her so much!”

She has invited Lainey to sing at their upcoming residents party on Thursday 31st October, so they’re all looking to seeing her again for another trip down memory lane with some great music – and dancing no doubt!

Flower arranging and Pet Therapy

We have enjoyed arranging flowers recently with some of our ladies. Margaret and Gwen created some beautiful floral arrangements with a selection of colourful roses and chrysanthemums.

Our beautiful PAT dog Skye came in to visit us on Monday. We always look forward to seeing her as she has such a wonderful temperament and enjoys spending time with our ladies and gents in our lounge or in their bedrooms. Being able to pet and stroke her brings so much comfort and happiness to our residents, it is wonderful to see.

Halloween preparations

We have also been busy making Halloween crafts ready for our penpal children who are coming to see us on Thursday 24th October as we are hosting a special party for them. We can’t wait to see them, catch up on all their news and have some fun!
