We were excited to take a group of our ladies from Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home to Castle Farm in Sevenoaks last week, which is described as the ‘Home of Kentish Lavender’.
The views of the beautiful lavender fields were stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed taking in the scenery and smelling the plants.
The farm has a ‘Hop Shop’ which boasts an array of wonderful produce;
“In the summer months, our Lavender fields burst into colour across the Kent landscape and we harvest and extract pure Kentish Lavender Oil.
The farm’s own beef, apples, apple juice, Kentish hop garlands, dried flowers, pumpkins, Kentish lavender oils, food essences, Lavender teas and honey are all sold through the unique, award-winning farm shop, along with carefully selected gifts, cards, crafts, seasonal decorations, food hampers and local, traceable produce.” (hopshop.co.uk)
We enjoyed looking around the shop and, of course, sampling the delicious ice-cream on offer!
A thoroughly enjoyable outing, with views to remember.
