Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home residents explore a butterfly jungle

A group of our residents from Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home recently visited the ‘Butterfly Jungle Experience’ at Hall Place Gardens.

Hall Place is a stunning historic house with beautiful gardens, rich in fascinating history and offering a range of exhibitions and public events every year.

Our residents had so much fun looking around and enjoying the beautiful colours and scenery. In usual Sonya Lodge style they enjoyed a ‘cup of tea and a slice of cake‘ in the Hall Place Café!

Inside the Butterfly Jungle experience, they were able to walk amongst stunning, free-flying butterflies from around the world in a rainforest environment, full to the brim with beautiful exotic flowers. As you can see, the butterflies were so vibrant and very friendly!

All stages of the butterfly’s incredible life cycle could be observed at first hand including egg laying, fascinating caterpillars and incredible pupae. There were also feeding stations where we could observe fruit feeding species. Experts were on hand to answer questions and explain the fascinating process.

A truly breathtaking experience which made for a very memorable day.
