The staff are always very caring with my Dad…

My Dad has been at Abbotsleigh for just over a year. The staff are always very caring with my Dad, and when he is sleepy they put him back to bed so he is more comfortable. As he is spending more time in his bedroom I mentioned that his furniture was a little elderly and getting tatty. Within a day the furniture was replaced and it now looks far brighter in his room. The activity staff are very good, reading poems with my Dad as it is one thing that he can still do, recite poetry. There is always something going on. Last week there were all types of animals and my Dad became quite animated talking about a tortoise he once had (something I did not know!). The staff are very good at liaising with me about any health issues and I really do feel I know what is going on with his care. A little thing, but we are always given a cuppa when we arrive, and I know my elderly mother appreciates this, especially when she has come on the train.
