Daily Activities
The key to enjoying a full and meaningful life.
Daily activities are very important to everyone who lives in a Care Home. Enjoying varied meaningful activities on a day-to-day basis helps us retain a sense-of-self and independence. A mix of focused and relaxed activity can provide us with stimulation and distraction, helping to improve and maintain mental agility and physical mobility.
Depending on a person’s needs and wishes, daily life can be as diverse as they like in a Nellsar Care Home. Each of our Homes provides a regular menu of activities for residents, giving plenty of opportunities to socialise. These might include arts and crafts, bingo, Zumba, music and movement, reminiscence sessions, food tasting, cookery, cake decorating and woodcraft.
We also have cinema and gardening clubs and our popular ‘coffee and chit chat’ clubs, which really stimulate conversation and camaraderie.
If you prefer your own company, then why not enjoy a bit of one-to-one time with a member of the Care team for a chat, some reading or a gentle aromatherapy hand massage?
A number of our Homes have resident pets including chickens and Guinea pigs, which bring comfort, relaxation and help create new memories. We also have many visiting Pet Therapy animals including a very friendly Shetland Pony!
Every one of our Homes has an outside space where green fingers can be exercised. We have some beautiful gardens with greenhouses and garden sheds and some lovely places to sit and enjoy the sunshine and wild life – it’s all out there waiting to be enjoyed.
