Our family were so happy to have found this wonderful place….

My mother became a resident of Loose Valley Care Home back in September of 2021 after her severe arthritis and osteoporosis made it impossible for her to stay at home on her own, even with visiting carers. She was in a lot of pain, upset at having to leave her home and very frail. The wonderful staff made her feel safe and looked after, from the moment she arrived. I doubt she had felt that safe for a considerable amount of time. She settled in very quickly and soon felt at home. Our family were so happy to have found this wonderful place, knowing mum was happy and looked after. As far as I'm concerned, the staff there do a wonderful job, and I hope they realise what a huge difference they make to people's lives. Mum called them all angels. She sadly passed away this year due to health issues connected to old age, but I will forever be grateful to everyone there. It's a wonderful place. Thank you all.

I’m pleased we chose Loose Valley and recommended this care home….

My sister was a resident at Loose Valley for two and a half years until she passed away at the end of 2021. She was cared for by kind friendly staff. The nursing staff kept me fully informed of her well-being through her stay, especially during covid days when it was difficult to visit. Her minor needs like having her coffee hot, extra pillows on her bed or being given different meals when what was on the menu wasn't to her liking were quickly sorted. I'm pleased we chose Loose Valley and recommended this care home.

As a family, we shall be forever grateful for the care and sensitivity shown to dad and us….

My father was admitted to Loose Valley for end-of-life care after a terminal illness diagnosis back in December 2021. The admission process was seamless and dad was immediately reassured by having people around him after worries of isolation at home despite family support. The Manager popped into his room daily and made him feel that he was getting 'special' care. Dad had oesophageal cancer and was unable to eat or drink very much by the time of his admission. There was gentle encouragement from the staff but no pressure and dad was able to request anything that he fancied to eat/drink. As dad deteriorated the staff communicated well with the Community Hospice Team and were excellent at keeping me informed at each stage of dad's care. They not only looked after dad but supported the family, especially during dads last days and hours. They ensured that dad was comfortable and pain-free. As a family, we shall be forever grateful for the care and sensitivity shown to dad and us.

Important to my recovery was the time I spent swapping life stories with my carers….

In October 2021 I was transferred to Loose Valley needing mobility support after sustaining a Vancouver fracture to my right hip. I had seven joints replaced previously. The aim was to achieve pain-free walking using one walking stick and carer support. There were exercise classes for general fitness. We had three cooked meals daily with a choice of two served in our rooms or the conservatory. I had a single, double aspect room with an adjacent toilet and shower. I had care support with showering. My previous important information of care homes was that they were to be avoided at all costs. More than four months later the care and attention I have received at Loose Valley has softened my impression a bit and am worried that I soon will have to do without: someone to cook and service my meals, provide a 2-3 hour laundry service, give me my medication, then amuse and entertain me etc. Also what was important to my recovery was the time I spent swapping life stories with my carers, considering how we all ended up at the same place and time. It will be nice to see my wife though!

Diligent care and generosity of spirit of all the staff….

Dad arrived at Loose Valley in a poor physical and mental condition, following a major operation and long hospital stay. Through the diligent care and generosity of spirit of all the staff, he has now recovered to his pre-op condition. The Home is superbly led by the Home Manager and her team, and they remain positive and cheerful through the challenges posed by Covid.

We couldn’t be happier with all the staff and the exceptional care….

My mum had to go to Loose Valley for respite care in August 2021, due to a broken shoulder. We couldn't be happier with all the staff and the exceptional care that has been consistently provided during mum's stay! We honestly cannot thank them all enough. They are all fabulous!

All the staff are very helpful, kind and patient….

I am very pleased to give this review of the care my father is receiving at Loose Valley (since 4 November 2021), as the care is excellent. I am a retired registered Nurse so can appreciate the excellent care being given to my father. My father who is bedridden is given very regular position changes and is always well-groomed, and has nutrition, fluid intake, and output closely monitored. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere in the Home and all the staff are very helpful, kind and patient. My brother and I are very pleased with the care my father is receiving.

Sent with love….

Dear all at Loose Valley. I hope this message finds you well and that you are all looking after yourselves in lockdown. It’s been 7 weeks now that I had to put down my mic and haven’t been able to entertain anywhere. But I am looking forward to seeing everyone when things are a little safer to do so. I’m really missing you all and look forward to seeing you all again, hopefully very soon. Take care and sent with love.

Thank you all from the bottom of my and my family’s heart….

My mum was in Loose Valley for nearly eight years, her care was exceptional. The staff were amazing, always was mum treated with the utmost care and compassion. The home was always clean and smelt lovely. The activities were always great, the food amazing. I always visited and was made to feel welcome, as was the rest of the family. Loose Valley became my mum's home, and I felt, my second home. I thank you all for the care and respect you gave Mum till the end. Thank you all from the bottom of my and my family's heart.

All the staff are very attentive and caring….

The home is extremely welcoming, the building itself is very homely and certainly not like an institution. All the staff are very attentive and caring, they also encourage residents to focus on what they can do rather than what they cannot. They treat residents as individuals whether they are there for the long or short term. The food is extremely good and caters for all needs and efforts are made daily to engage residents in the activities on offer and to socialise. I am especially impressed by contact with animals.

Nothing was too much trouble….

I cannot praise the staff enough. They were wonderful with my father, nothing was too much trouble. They sat and talked to him and really made his stay special. Thanks to them his final weeks were much better than they could have been.

J W, daughter of resident, March 2020, Loose Valley Care Home

An exceptionally welcoming home….

In my six weeks at Loose Valley Care Centre, I found the atmosphere comfortable and relaxed. There are opportunities for privacy, also for meeting others. Everyone is cared for appropriately and special attention is unobtrusive. The food is excellent with a delicious menu attractively presented and well suited to the range of residents. Staff are always polite and helpful. Their special kindness and warm friendliness are greatly appreciated and enjoyed. The management maintain a high level of efficient care for individuals in an exceptionally welcoming home.

The staff are friendly and kind….

My sister came here just before Christmas four years ago, thanks to your manager making a room available for her. During her time here, she has enjoyed the contact with the staff who are friendly and kind. She loved gardening and the manager made an area available for her to plant up and enjoy. Her room was comfortable with a TV and room for some of her own furniture, which she liked.

Joe G, brother of resident, February 2020, Loose Valley Care Home

Treated with great care and respect….

Visitors are always welcomed with a smile and chat. Patients are treated with great care and respect. In the case of my cousin, the family thanks everyone for their care in her last days and, indeed, her entire stay.

L B, cousin of resident, January 2020, Loose Valley Care Home

We will have happy memories of the time she spent at the care home…

My aunt entered the home as a very poorly, recently widowed 98-year-old. Under their sensitive, compassionate care she found a reason to smile again and eventually began to enjoy life again. We will have happy memories of the time she spent at the care home.

LH, niece of resident, August 2019, Loose Valley Care Home

All the staff work above and beyond…

Absolutely without question thoroughly recommend Loose Valley Care Home. All the staff work above and beyond their duty.
