My mother has been a resident for almost two years and is very happy there. She likes her room and other facilities and although she has to have a soft food diet, she is well catered for. Whenever we visit we always receive a very warm welcome from all of the staff whether its management, carers or cleaning staff. They all looked fantastic for Halloween.

My mother has been a resident in Meyer House Care Centre for nearly two years. She is always clean and is treated with dignity and respect. She has dementia and her needs have changed but the staff have accommodated her changes. It is hard to decide to put a loved one in residential care but I am happy she is safe and well cared for.

All the staff are brilliant. They got my Grandad back on his feet after a broken knee. They are so supportive and provide excellent, person centred care. Good events and very accommodating. Well done to all the staff and thank you very much.

My Dad moved into Meyer House in March 2017 after a serious illness and stay in hospital where we were told he probably wouldn’t survive. I’m a Care Home Manager myself so naturally my Mum asked me to help find a Nursing Home. My Dad had 2 bad experiences of respite care in other homes, so Mum was quit worried about him going somewhere permanently. I found Meyer House on this website and made an appointment to visit. My first impression of the home was staff very friendly and engaging when we walked through the door, it was a little as the Manager put it “shabby chic” but had a very homely feel. Sadly, my Dad passed away 2 weeks ago, not bad considering the hospital told us he wouldn’t survive. My Mum visited him most days and has been very happy with the care and attention the staff and management have provided, she has such praise for the carers. I know the difficulties faced by care homes these days, I just wanted to thank those at Meyer House for taking such good care of our Dad.

My uncle was taken to London to see Christmas lights, something he has not done in years! He is taken out quite regularly from the home, and seen more, and done more than he would have before being there. The staff and manager are all lovely, caring people who put the residents first every day. My uncle is very happy and contented there. We were invited to their Christmas party and what a fantastic atmosphere, Elvis was there (tribute act), residents come alive with the music.

Dad moved into Meyer House in spring 2017. He was made welcome and has settled in well. As a family, this was the toughest decision we all had to make but our fears, concerns and guilt have been massively assuaged by the most fantastic support for him and us all from the staff team there. All of the team have made us all feel at home, nothing is too much trouble and their love and care for dad has been excellent. I cannot recommend or rate them highly enough.

My brother has been at Meyer House for 6 months and he has loved every minute of living here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. He looks so much better in his appearance and so much happier in himself than he has been for a few years, this is due to the care and meals he is eating.

Mum is settled and well attended. She is not too communicative but seems to have a good relationship with the team. Over the last 18 months, she has steadily withdrawn into herself but was formerly very happy.

When my mother had to go into a nursing home we, as a family, were very concerned as to which home to choose. We had heard very good reports on Meyer House so we made an appointment to visit. We were impressed from the moment they opened the door. The staff are all very kind, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Our mother never wanted to move from her house, let alone go into a nursing home, but she is really happy at Meyer House and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

I am writing to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for the love and care shown to my mother, Margaret Watts, who had been a resident at Meyer House since 31st January 2012 until she passed away on 5th May 2017.

Gill and her team could not have been kinder to Mum throughout her 5 years at Meyer House. The care given to her and ourselves during her last few days was exemplary, a member of staff being at Mum's bedside at all times.

Choosing a nursing home for Mum in 2012 was a difficult and emotional strain for us all, particularly as she did not want to leave the family home where she had lived for over sixty years. Unfortunately her health problems meant this was no longer possible. We visited a number of establishments, many operated by household names. However, when we came to Meyer House the warmth of Gill's welcome, her passion for the Home and in providing a high quality, professional and most importantly personal service for all of her residents made our decision easy. It was the best decision ever made and one we have never regretted.

I know Gill very much operates a strong team ethic rather than focussing on individuals. We totally understand and respect this but would like to express our particular thanks to not only Gill herself but also to Brenda, Pauline, Pat, Julie and Sharon who could not have been more loving, kind and supportive to Mum and ourselves, particularly during the more challenging times.

I should also like to express my gratitude to Abi for the professional and helpful manner in which she dealt with the financial matters relating to Mum's time at Meyer House.

Once again can I thank Nellsar Care Homes for the care and kindness given to Mum and ourselves and wish you all every success in the future.

I have found all the staff to be very caring to my mother. They treat her with dignity and are supportive. Rooms are clean and the food and drink are very good. Facilities are good and clean. There are activities on a regular basis.
