The staff were so kind to my father-in-law as he was at the end of his life….

The staff were so kind to my father-in-law as he was at the end of his life. They kept him comfortable and pain-free. They also really looked after my mother-in-law when she visited, showing such care and compassion. We could not have asked for more in such sad circumstances.

The nursing staff are knowledgeable and proactive….

They are looking after him very well and keeping him safe, making sure he doesn't fall. The nursing staff are knowledgeable and proactive in treating infections early, to prevent hospital stays.

I have nothing but respect and admiration for the dedicated and caring staff….

My mother has been a resident at St Winifreds since mid-July 2023 where she was sent directly from a hospital stay when it sadly became clear she could no longer cope at home. It has been a great relief to our family to know that she is cared for and safe in her new environment. I have nothing but respect and admiration for the dedicated and caring staff I have encountered every day. When shopping for a Home, I was advised to look out for how the staff engage; well on every point they have met and at times surpassed our expectations. The Nurses and Carers are amazing and really understand how to work with challenging dementia patients. Of course not every day is perfect but whenever I have had a concern, the Manager and/or Liaison Officer have listened and heard me. I know it's safe to let them know if something isn't quite right on the odd occasion and they will get to the bottom of it and fix it. We feel fortunate that we found St Winifreds.

The staff were extremely kind and caring….

My parents came to live here in March and a suitable room was found for them to share. My father recently died and the staff were extremely kind and caring to him and my mum. I was particularly pleased that two members of staff were able to assist my mother to dad's funeral in a wheelchair using the minibus. This enabled her to go to the church, the burial and the wake and meet old friends. Wonderful.

All the staff we came across were extremely kind and caring, with the most welcoming smiles….

It’s a difficult decision when putting a relative in for respite; you worry if they will be happy and cared for. From the moment I spoke to the first member of staff on the phone, I felt comforted. My father has Alzheimer’s and dementia and does need nursing care. They invited us over for a visit and asked me to take dad. It was such a lovely welcome. The clients seemed very happy. All staff seemed so friendly, some were sitting doing activities. The restaurant (their own eating area) was set so beautifully and all home-cooked food! It’s the little things. His room was very clean and I explained that he liked looking out the window. They immediately changed the room around and got the chair by the window. All the staff we came across were extremely kind and caring, with the most welcoming smiles and they seemed so caring it was a pleasure to meet you all. My dad has had three weeks respite. He was so happy and that’s all I needed. Dad will definitely be back. Thank you.

I find the staff all very kind and pleasant….

My husband is a resident at this Home and is very happy here. I find the staff all very kind and pleasant. They keep me in touch with all the things going on with my husband, which I find reassuring as I am not in good health myself and can't go and see him very often.

This is a massively person-centred Home….

The staff at St Winifreds have made a massive difference to my dad's well-being. He was barely able to walk when he arrived; he now walks unaided, his skin integrity was poor, and it is now better than ever; this is a massively person-centred Home. It is very clean and tidy, and the food and activities are excellent.

All the staff are extremely friendly and informative….

My mother always appears to be happy, comfortable and clean. All the staff are extremely friendly and informative and they maintain regular contact via email or telephone. Recently, my mother had to swap rooms, but the staff ensured that all her personal items and decorative possessions (pictures and ornaments) were equally transferred to the new room.

St Winifreds has a wonderful caring and welcoming atmosphere….

St Winifreds has a wonderful caring and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are always clean as is the rest of the premises. The dining room is always set with fresh flowers on the tables, it looks so inviting. There are always stimulating activities on offer each day, as well as trips out in the minibus. I am so pleased my mum is a resident here.

The care has always been good and mum seems very happy….

My mum has been at St Winifreds for nearly two years. The care has always been good and mum seems very happy. Special mention for the Activities Team who make sure there's always something going on. Also to the Resident Family Liaison – contact is easy and all concerns are dealt with sympathetically, efficiently and with humour.

Staff are caring and happy to help….

Staff are caring and happy to help. The dining area is clean and welcoming. The bedroom is always clean with the bed made. The food is good and looks nice. The garden is being revamped now, so that will be nice for the summer.

I would recommend St Winifreds to anyone looking for care for a loved one….

Dad's been in the care of St Winifreds for a year and a half now and we are more than happy with his care. Dad can be difficult at times, but the staff have a good coping strategy to deal with him. He is always kept clean (personal care/clothes). I am always kept informed of any problems or illnesses. Staff and management are always happy to discuss any problems. I would recommend St Winifreds to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

St Winifreds is a caring and loving Home….

I can not tell you how much I appreciate the kindness and support the staff and carers gave not only to my husband and me, but my family. St Winifreds is a caring and loving Home for anyone who is fortunate to be placed there. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. A wonderful Home.

My dad really trusts the staff and they treat him like family….

My dad looked very happy when I visited - he always does. All the staff make me feel very welcome when I visit. My dad really trusts the staff and they treat him like family. He is always in clean clothes, and all other residents that I pass are very clean. His room is clean, the bed sheets are clean and no odour. Thank you - means a lot to me and my family, knowing my dad is being so well looked after and cared for.

Paul M, son of resident, November 2022, St Winifreds Care Home

He is extremely well looked after….

My dad has been in the care home now for a few months, and he is extremely well looked after. I am also well informed and updated by the staff about what is happening with my dad. Dad has had a couple of infections since being at the home, and both times, he received the medical attention that he required.
