Bromley Park Care Home Testimonials

Bromley Park have been amazing with my mother from the start. The staff have a genuine compassion and respect for her well being and comfort. They have an informed understanding of my mother's current state of health and needs and communicate to us any changes when they occur. Any time we visit, mum looks smart and well cared for so we know her personal needs are being attended to very well, even down to the choice of clothes which have been chosen on her behalf, as she is no longer able to make those decisions. The meals are plentiful and just as my mum would have made for herself and the home is always clean, light. airy and warm. This is nothing more than you would expect from a care home but it's the every day things that make Bromley Park a special home from home: the smiles from all the staff and their engagement with the residents, the knowledge of their personal likes and dislikes, the constant respect afforded the residents and family. We couldn't be more pleased.

All staff very friendly and helpful. Bedrooms comfortable and spacious. All accommodation on the lower ground floor (dining room, two community rooms and tv room) is most pleasant, being light with a view of the large garden. 10' high walls in the building also add to a feeling of spaciousness. Altogether a very pleasant and attractive home.

Would highly recommend (and have) Bromley Park to anyone who has the worry of their loved ones having to go into care. The staff become like family, they show much love and care for your family member, my Mum has only been in a couple of months but it feels like she has always been there, when it was her birthday a beautiful cake was made and everyone gathered round to sing her "Happy Birthday". We are always told of how the day has been and the activity they have done, Mum's speech was not very good before but being with people that talk to her all the time she has made a happy progress. Although Mum is not aware of how good things are it is my Peace of mind she is looked after 24 hours a day.

Extremely pleased with the care that my brother, who has proved challenging at times to the staff, has been receiving. The staff have managed him well and this has helped an intelligent but at times confused individual to come to terms with his lack of ability to look after himself. Now that he has settled in, he realises and admitted just how lonely he was living by himself. He appreciates greatly the company. The food is good and he has a lovely room, which he is convinced is the best room in the whole home. My partner and I have always received a warm and friendly greeting from the staff when we visit. We are offered refreshments and there is usually a lovely home baked cake or biscuit on offer. We are pleased with his care and reassured after a number of visits that he is in good hands.

Needed to move dad as wasn't happy where he had been the last six months. He was assessed straight away and was moved the week after. The staff are so caring and efficient and very understanding of dad's needs and also mine and my sister's.

Most impressive ' staff; care standards; activities programme; welcoming, loving atmosphere. Going the extra mile, e.g. special chair so my mother can go downstairs and join in activities - delighted to hear she's had fun playing with a red balloon! We hear of those who “dump” their elderly loved ones. But I'm satisfied my mother's in safe hands, and benefits from professional levels of care and understanding that, as a layperson, I can't provide myself - would never have occurred to me to give her a red balloon to play with! We also hear care is expensive - but worth every penny, I think. Your staff work round the clock - unsocial hours, weekends, holiday periods. Work that's physically demanding; and emotionally exhausting in that you must become very fond of people who you know are drawing towards the ends of their lives. I can see you all really appreciate what an intelligent, wonderful, extraordinary person my mother is, and that she is flourishing. Thank you to everyone involved!

My father has always been a difficult person to please and I can say that he is very happy at the home and has no complaints. The carers are all so kind and patient, there is always a friendly smile and greeting for him. He is very restricted as to activities, but he is encouraged to engage and to exercise regularly. The food is cooked on the premises and a varied menu is offered. All of which is good quality and appetising. The home is clean and the rooms are large and airy.

My mother has been very well looked after since coming to the home almost two years ago. She needs help with all aspects of personal care and is always clean, well dressed with brushed hair and teeth. Her clothes are chosen for her and they always match and look smart. The staff know her personal tastes well, are kind, considerate, polite and smiling. Recently her room was decorated and I was delighted to be asked what my mother's choice of colours for paint and fabrics would be ' another example of the respect and regard the staff have for the residents. I am kept well informed of any matters relating to my mother's care and am called promptly if any issue arises. I have attended the friends of relatives meetings, which are friendly, open and informative and am impressed with the new newsletter that was recently issued. The home is welcoming, clean and bright and the staff just lovely.

We came today to visit a very special lady who means so much to us and our family. The staff at this care home are so very polite, helpful and caring. It's so nice when unfortunately there are some homes that the care and attention are far from adequate. However, this is a home that cares for you from start till the end and makes us feel that places like this restore our faith and trust in society. Thank you for everything you've all done for our dear friend who is a very special lady.

I am happy with the care currently being given to my mother. Staff take a genuine interest in her happiness and well being.

Mum has Lewy bodies dementia, we cared for her at home for many years, in the end, it was becoming just too much. I have found the staff at Bromley Park kind and caring, the lunches are always very nice with fresh vegetables and they have a range of activities which go on, some of which mum takes part in. They have a lovely garden and they make full use of it in the summer. The management has always reacted to any concerns I have had (which happens because that is what life and dementia is like) promptly and professionally. The manager has an open door policy and always makes time to talk. They have excellent nurses who go the extra mile and work hard to support the residents and their needs. There is no perfect residential home (if mum knew where she was, she would prefer to be in her own little annexe), but the staff at Bromley Park try their best to make it homely and cater to each resident's needs. We feel very lucky to have found them.

The resident seems happy and well cared for. There is always an activity taking place when I visit and residents are encouraged to join in. The home is clean and in good decorative order. There is a large garden and the residents are encouraged to use it in the good weather. It could do with some tidying, but it isn't dangerous and is pleasant to be in.

The staff are very pleasant and helpful. A good caring atmosphere. Very responsive to requests. All the staff are very kind to elderly confused patients.

My father has been in the home for some years and I am pleased to say that over the past few years the home has become much improved by recruiting a better calibre of staff and management, which in turn has impacted on my father's wellbeing in a positive way. The manager has done an outstanding job of taking over management temporarily. She is always attentive to any issues I have and deals with them timeously. I am mostly very pleased with the way my dad is cared for at Bromley Park, and she is presently dealing with some issues of concern I have raised lately. My father has a few carers who he likes to chat and banter with, which is really nice to know. Over the past months, the home has undergone some refurbishment and it feels a lot more homely and practical.

My friend needed to stay in your care home for just two nights, in order to attend a family funeral some 200 miles from where she lives. Her care needs were complex, not helped by her almost total blindness. Being in a strange environment, surrounded by unfamiliar staff and residents, she was obviously felt very nervous and in a very vulnerable position. Your staff coped admirably. All the staff we met were friendly, helpful and kind. The decor was light and airy, and most importantly very clean. The service you provided to me friend was very much appreciated.
