I have been visiting Abbotsleigh Care Home for 6 years and from last year onwards the transformations for the better have been incredible. It is a real joy to visit Abbotsleigh. The staff could not be more helpful and kind. The decortication and furnishings are amazing. The residents' interaction is beyond recognition. They are awake and interactive. I have not had such level of interaction for years. It is a happy place and the residence are so well looked after. Wonderful really. The staff is working extremely hard but don’t show their stresses and try to please always. I love coming to Abbotsleigh, especially with this swishy new coffee machine and freshly baked cake expecting you on arrival. Thank you all at Abbotsleigh for making me feel so welcome. This care home is run professionally by kind, caring and understanding management and staff, having experienced dreadful care, this care home is at the other end of the spectrum. Excellent staff. Very caring. Very efficient. Look after all of Mum's needs wonderfully. Anticipate all care requirements, proactive in solving any health problems and keeping the family informed. Good quality food and drink...

Mum has been in Lukestone since the start of December last year, and is now starting to settle in, has made a group of friends and takes part in activities provided. She is safe, warm and I know she has her medication regularly and good quality food and drink.

Staff are fantastic and all so helpful...

My mum has been at Lulworth House for over 3 years. During all that time and although her condition (Vascular dementia) has worsened as expected, the staff are fantastic and all so helpful. Management are very approachable and very open should a query arise. I could not be happier with the care given to mum and the love and support given to me and my family.

My uncle is very happy and contented there...

My uncle was taken to London to see Christmas lights, something he has not done in years! He is taken out quite regularly from the home, and seen more, and done more than he would have before being there. The staff and manager are all lovely, caring people who put the residents first every day. My uncle is very happy and contented there. We were invited to their Christmas party and what a fantastic atmosphere, Elvis was there (tribute act), residents come alive with the music.

Staff seem caring and helpful...

Pleased with the care so far. Any medical issues/medication changes have always been followed up with a phone call to us. Initial issue with laundry, but this seems to have been sorted. Food allergy (coeliac) was understood and dealt with quickly. Staff seem caring and helpful.

My mother has just been admitted on a respite care basis to St Winifred's in Deal. From the moment I contacted the home I was supported in a professional, caring and welcoming manner reassuring both me (and my mother) that this home was the right choice for my mother's needs. All of the staff are friendly, approachable and professional and go out of their way to help in any way they can.
The Assistant Manager easily established a good working relationship with both my mother and I and was able to sort out any issues we had quickly, effectively and efficiently. She treated us in a professional and calm manner treating us with honesty, respect and consideration. Her friendly, calm, approachable attitude is a true credit to her and to the care home.

I have been impressed with the wonderful level of care and attention...

My Dad is 89, with moderate but increasing dementia, and just about managing to remain in his own home with his wife, also in her late 80s. Dad has spent two separate weeks recently at Old Downs, to give his wife a short respite from his care needs. I have visited Dad daily, at various times of the day. On each occasion, I have been impressed with the wonderful level of care and attention he has received from all the staff. Every person has treated Dad with utmost respect and compassion, holding his hand, speaking gently with him and listening to him. This might be the lady with the tea trolley, any of the care/activities staff, whether in the lounges, the dining room, or at Reception. Dad has a sense of humour & he has clearly enjoyed the relaxed chit-chat with all the staff. Everybody knew Dad's name, and he was welcomed back on his repeat visit like a member of the family. The staff are kind and gentle with Dad, giving him choices and suggestions to fill his time. I am very grateful.

My mother received exceptional care. She was given choices in her diet and activities. All her needs have been met by pleasant caring staff. My mother went in for respite care but has chosen to stay as she enjoys her life at Woodstock Residential Care Centre.
