My husband was moved to Lukestone after a spell in hospital. I was extremely worried as I have always maintained that he would never go to a care home. Unfortunately, his lack of mobility meant it was taken out of my hands. I can wholeheartedly say that the whole staff from management through to cooks and cleaners treat him with care, kindness and respect. He has also had a number of medical issues and the nurses have been outstanding. It’s hard leaving him when I visit but made easier when I know he couldn’t be better cared for.

My mother was only at Lukestone Care Home for a couple of months. During that time, we found the service provided very good. The staff were always polite and attentive, and the management was always very professional and informative. Her needs were met throughout her time there. From the time mum entered Lukestone Care Home to the day that she passed away, she was cared for with dignity, respect and love. She had nursing needs which the Home met to a very consistent and high standard. This meant that mum, who in the latter stages could not articulate her feelings, was always clean, comfortable and pain-free. We are very grateful to every member of staff – Office staff, Maintenance staff, Carers, Nurses, Managers and Activity staff members who all work so hard to provide such a lovely atmosphere and Home for their residents. I would definitely recommend Lukestone to anyone considering placing their loved one there.

My mother-in-law was a resident in Lukestone for over two years with severe Alzheimer's and end-of-life care. She received excellent care. Her skin and hair were in good condition despite being bed-bound for over a year. The Nurses knew her personally and always spoke with genuine knowledge of her when I asked questions. The Carers treated her (and all the residents I witnessed) with kindness and gentleness, and were hardworking. The Manager and admin staff are also excellent and always make time for my queries and concerns. Lukestone is a really excellent Nursing Home which I would recommend to anyone.

My mum has flourished living here since 2021. COVID was a challenging time for everyone but the care has always been excellent. Consistent communication from staff has made the transition for her and my family much easier. She is always clean, comfortable and offered to participate in many stimulating activities such as theme days, trips out, karaoke, crafts, baking and games. They offer a wonderful food selection and combined with daily morning exercises has meant she is thriving both physically and mentally. My family and I always look forward to our weekly visits and the staff are always welcoming and kind, often with many stories to tell from the week before. They treat her like she is their own family and I am grateful she was placed with such a lovely facility.

We were informed in December that mum needed nursing care. I feel very fortunate she is now being cared for at Lukestone Care Home. As soon as you walk through the door you notice that Lukestone smells nice and you're always met with smiling faces from staff at all levels. Cleanliness is an exceptionally high standard, also mum's personal care. Residents are kept busy and stimulated with various activities according to their personal abilities. Such a lovely Home and I'm pleased mum is there.

The care home staff have been very caring and supportive of both my mum and myself. The lengths the catering people go to, to cater for my mum's needs has been really impressive. Nothing seems like too much trouble, so a big thank you to them. The activities staff have been fantastic and really attentive. My father was transferred to Lukestone from hospital in October 2020. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions we only saw him on 2 occasions. After this, the staff arranged WhatsApp video calls, then later on behind the perspex screen. Due to him having dementia we were unable to ask him if he was happy or any other questions regarding his stay. He always looked clean and were advised that he was eating well. The staff go to a lot of effort in arranging occasions like Christmas and birthdays. The family liaison lady was our lifeline, she is so caring and kind. Unfortunately, Dad passed away at the beginning of February and we never got to see him in his final hours. The only thing I would say as a negative is a Funeral Director, and whether he would be cremated or buried, which should have been decided with the care home beforehand on his admission, as a call at 2.25am advising me of his passing then asking these questions I felt was a little insensitive.
