Conveniently located in the Kentish town of Sittingbourne, Woodstock Residential Care Home is a specialist centre providing 24-hour Residential Care for the frail elderly and people with a diagnosis of Dementia. Recently refurbished, this attractive accommodation offers excellent amenities and spacious accommodation enabling residents to choose where they wish to spend their time – sitting quietly, watching a film or participating in one of the many planned activities. Woodstock Residential Care Home is close to public transport and residents are allowed to bring their own furniture with them when they move in, and their pets to keep them company. Some rooms have en-suite facilities. The Home features specialist lifting and bathing equipment, lift access to all floors and wheelchair access throughout. We have a busy Activities timetable for those wishing to take part. We also organise regular external entertainers and we have access to a Mini Bus to enable us to take trips out with small groups of residents. Woodstock provides a varied, healthy and plentiful menu that is very popular with residents – catering for special diets and soft food diets.
As well as regular GP visits to the Home, residents can benefit from a range of Professionals who regularly visit the Home, including: Chiropodist, Dietician, Hairdresser, Optician and Specialist Nurses.
Nellsar is one of the first Care Home groups to employ a Nutritional Therapist and introduce individual consultations and Nutritional Champions across the Homes, putting the holistic and nutritional health of our residents first. A combination of nature and science, Nutritional Therapy “acknowledges the kitchen as the medicine cabinet” and is extremely important to the elderly, particularly those in Residential Care with Dementia or specific health conditions or illnesses.

My mother has been a resident at Woodstock for just over a month now and has settled in very well. Her room is lovely and she is happy in her new home. Her room is always clean and tidy and mum always appears well cared for. She has been able to visit the on-site hairdresser and staff have painted her nails. There are lots of activities on offer and mum is always given the opportunity to participate. The staff are always calm and respectful, treating everyone with the dignity they deserve.

My mum currently receives a daycare service from Woodstock since January 2016. I find the manager and staff kind, friendly and helpful. I also know she is well cared for and safe in a clean and pleasant environment. She herself speaks very highly of the staff and always enjoys her time spent there. There would appear to be a variety of games and activities on a daily basis, which stimulates her. In the future when mum needs full-time care, I would have no doubt Woodstock would be most suitable for her. Thank you to the manager and all the staff.

My mum has been in Woodstock since December 2016. She seems to have settled in well. She is a lot calmer and I feel she is safe so I don’t have to worry. The staff are friendly and look after the residents well. It is a very bright and spacious home and has many activities for residents to join in.

Amazing home. Fantastic staff, kind, caring and compassionate. Loved seeing them and interacting with all the residents. Nothing was too much trouble. When my friend had to go into a Nursing home the manager helped and supported me in finding one. Priceless care and support. Thank you, Woodstock Residential Care Centre, staff and management.

The first impression of the Centre was lasting, bright, airing and welcoming. Staff always welcomed us like friends. They quickly settled my best friend, my mother-in-law in. She unfortunately only managed a month there before she was poorly and had to go to the hospital, but whilst in hospital she kept asking to go home. She did not mean her house, but her new home at Woodstock where she had settled, made friends and got involved with all the activities they run on a daily basis. The home looks bright, light and airy, smells sweet and has beautiful gardens. It is a lovely place, and we looked at a number before settling on this one. A very good choice for us and mum.

My mother is extremely well looked after. The manager is helpful and always on call to answer any questions or worries we might have. The staff generally are helpful. Considering my mother has dementia all the staff are very patient with her. There are activities every day and a mini bus which takes the residents out on lots of occasions. In the summer there is a bright and cheerful garden with seats and umbrellas to sit outside. Coffee mornings are held and entertainment provided which is excellent.

“The care my Aunt received was excellent from all the staff. Throughout my Aunt’s stay at this Home I was impressed by the way the staff cared for the people that were in the lounges with my Aunt. Nothing was too much trouble and people were helped very quickly when they needed it. The care my Aunt received was excellent from all the staff I saw helping her.”

A message from the Manager
Hello, my name is Fiona Dinsmore and I’m the Manager of Woodstock Residential Care Home in Sittingbourne. Joining Nellsar in March 2018, I have worked in the care industry since I qualified as a General Nurse in 1992. I have a wealth of experience working in elderly care settings, winning Nursing and Residential Care’s ‘Care Home Registered Nurse’ award in 2014.
I like to inspire my team with fresh ideas and leading by example, all the while cementing person-centred care as the heart of our Home. I am very particular about the staff we employ to care for our residents in our Care Home and I specially select people for their personal qualities, such as being instinctively warm with a natural desire to help others.
Myself and all the staff believe it’s extremely important to involve our residents’ family and friends in the care their loved ones receive. As a result, I believe that every resident at Woodstock Care Home enjoys the highest possible quality of life that their age and condition can allow. This also enables my staff to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand.
Woodstock is decorated to offer a warm, safe and friendly Care Home environment where people can maintain their independence and feel ‘at home’ in our care. The conservatory is a favourite among our residents and offers fantastic views of our garden, with doors that open out onto the patio area. Our gardens have various seating areas for residents and their relatives to sit, relax and socialise. We also enjoy wonderful summer parties in the garden with barbecues and professional entertainment.
We have a wonderful Summer House/Café and a caravan Snack Wagon within our garden where residents can enjoy a hot dog, candy floss or some popcorn. There is also a specially developed shaded area for our residents to enjoy, and they can play a game of crazy golf if they wish.
As well as hosting a great variety of personal and social activities within the Care Home, we often take residents out of the Care Home to the local park (when the weather is nice) or the local café. We also make regular trips to the seaside, to the local Dobbie’s garden centre, and drives out in the Mini Bus. We like to encourage families to come along on the days out and enjoy spending time with their relatives.
Please feel free to call me on 01795 420 202.
