We pride ourselves in being a family-run care business. And when we say ‘family’ we really mean it. Nellsar is named after the two daughters of our owners and this focus on family values has been our calling card for three decades. Built on strong foundations, we have worked hard to build the trusted reputation of our Homes and we pride ourselves in being approachable, accountable and ‘hands-on’ in our relationships with the families we support.
2018 marks the 30th anniversary of our very first resident. We have grown and developed since then to embrace some 600 residents and 900 staff over 13 locations. Each of these people bring something valuable to Nellsar and add a little bit more to our family.
Experts in Care
Our skilled nurses and care teams are highly-experienced at providing complex nursing and dementia care. They liaise regularly with doctors, district nurses, consultants and other health practitioners to ensure that each of our residents receives individually tailored care with the highest level of support and medical treatment.
Compassion lies at the heart of everything they do. They are passionate about their work and providing the special personal touches that make Nellsar Homes the perfect choice for a loved one.

We want all our residents to feel at home with us and have their physical, emotional and spiritual needs fully catered for. Our focus is firmly on ‘the individual’ and we are committed to engaging those in our care and enabling each person to lead an active, fulfilled and independent life. Our staff recognise that individuality means listening to what people tell them and ensuring every day is thoroughly enjoyable.
Key to this is getting to know who our residents are – their likes and dislikes, their families and friends, their careers, the choices they have made and the challenges they’ve overcome. The more we know, the better we can tailor our care.
We enrich the lives of our residents with the fantastic services we provide in our Homes. We have a wide selection of daily activities and regular outings to suit all tastes. We also offer a range of relaxing treatments including massage, aromatherapy and reflexology, delivered by our dedicated Well-Being Team.
We take special pride in the food we serve and the dining experience we provide every day. Food is such an important aspect of life and we continuously strive to offer great looking and great tasting food in inviting surroundings, catering for both nutritional needs and individual taste preferences. Our in-house Nutrition and Wellness Manager works continuously with our Home chefs to develop menus and nutritional advances across Nellsar.
