The Story and Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein
On Tuesday 26 March, a group of residents from Woodstock Residential Care Home took a trip to The Heritage Centre in Sheerness for a special music show paying tribute to to the musical talents of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.
What a fantastic afternoon we had!
The show was a mixture of musical performances and narration about their life and musical career. Our residents enjoyed a selection of songs from their top five musicals including ‘Surry with a Fringe on Top’ and ‘Kansas City’ from Oklahoma, plus ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ from Carousel, and ‘Climb Every Mountain’ from The Sound of Music.
We also tucked into a marvellous afternoon tea during the interval – perfect!
