Mum has been here for a year now. At first, she was able to join in the activities, but due to age, illness and dementia, she is now bedridden. Due to Covid, we are unable to visit, but we can Skype and talk to her. Often she just looks confused, but her carer is so lovely, she makes sure her hair is done and helps her to wave or blow a kiss. She also reads mum her post and prints out emails they get from her children and grandchildren. These photos are put on her bedroom wall for mum to look at. Mum sleeps a lot now. It’s not ideal that we can’t visit, but this Home has been Covid free, and therefore, all the residents have been kept safe. All the staff are really pleasant, it’s like talking to friends and I know that mum is in a safe environment.
