My mother has been at Sonya Lodge for 8 months now and I am very happy with the care she receives. Mum’s dementia can cause her to get very anxious and frightened at times but the staff are all wonderful with her, giving her lots of reassurance and one-to-one time whenever needed. She is treated with dignity, respect and kindness and I know she is safe and very well looked after. She has regained her appetite since being in the home and enjoys her food again which is lovely to see. The activities offered are excellent and mum particularly enjoys the music and dancing, which I like to go along to and join in with her. I am kept very well informed about mum’s care and the staff always make me feel so welcome during my visits. I would say that Sonya Lodge feels like a home-from-home as far as is possible, which is thanks to the brilliant staff.
