Last week, we enjoyed a baking session with some of our residents at Abbotsleigh Care Home. We prepared and mixed ingredients to make cupcakes together. After baking we had fun decorating them with icing – all set to have with afternoon tea. Delicious!
On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome a local choir and musicians to Abbotsleigh who came to perform a selection of songs for us. It was fantastic to hear the live instruments and join in with the wonderful singers, using the song sheets they provided. It was a fantastic atmosphere and our residents really enjoyed tapping their feet along the music!
With the week’s wonderful weather, we took two of our residents for a slow stroll outside in the shade, to take in the fresh air and spend time together chatting, which we very much enjoyed. The recent sunshine has also seen us raiding our ice-cream chiller in the afternoons to keep us cool. Sunshine and sweet treats – the perfect combination!
