On Wednesday 11 April, we planned a “tasks day” at Abbotsleigh Care Home.
We know that some of our residents like to do practical tasks, in order to feel helpful and useful, so we often set up a bowl of warm soapy water and some plastic cups to wash, which is often popular.
This week, we had a different focus. Some of our residents felt useful folding napkins and rolling wool into meat balls.
There were busy hands and smiling faces all around and our ladies enjoyed the relaxing feeling of handling and working the wool. We thanked them very much for their help!
When the weather gets warmer, we can offer other kinds of tasks that our ladies and gents enjoy, such as washing clothes by hand. When we can splash about to our heart content!
