Nellsar News Issue 14 Out Today

Nellsar News – looking to the future

The latest issue of the Nellsar Care Homes group newsletter marks our 14th issue and we couldn’t be more proud. Publishing three issues of the newsletter per year, as we approach 2023, we will be celebrating our sixth year in production – and Nellsar will celebrate its 35th anniversary as a leading Care Provider!

The ‘Corporate News’ in this issue features the regular Message from the MD, Martin Barrett, with a ‘Look to the Future’, along with ‘A Spotlight on Lukestone’ – one of our Nursing Homes in Maidstone. We are very proud to include an update on our recently qualified OSCE Nurses, and you’ll hear broader news from our Learning and Development Manager, Marisa Spice.

Our ‘Special Features’ are particularly special this issue with six pages dedicated to our amazing Catering Team and their delicious food, by Adrian Silaghi, our Head of Catering Services. Our Nutrition and Wellness Manager Leni Wood goes into detail about the therapeutic properties of some foods, with respect to staving off disease, which links nicely to other charity ventures that our Homes have enjoyed in recent months.

Catch a glimpse of the photos from our epic Woodstock 69 event held at our two Sittingbourne Homes – Hengist Field and Woodstock – in September, a throw back to the original 1969 festival in America. We celebrated with fantastic food, drink and music, and festival games galore! Our staff worked so hard to prepare a beautiful buffet.

Staff and residents in our Homes made a grand event of Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ in September – an annual fundraising event to support people living with cancer. We also observed Breast Cancer Now charity’s ‘Wear It Pink Day’ in October across our group of Homes – the aim was to have fun and raise awareness of the importance of self examination to aid early detection.

This issue is packed full of meaningful content and wonderful photos of our residents; our 13 Homes receive printed copies for their residents, staff and families. You can view this issue online, along with all our back-issues here: www.nellsar.com/nellsar-newsletters
