Respite Care and Short Breaks

Friends and family

We understand that it can be a great privilege to be able to care for a friend or relative. However, when caring for someone long term, it can feel overwhelming and take its toll on you and your family.

Throughout these post-pandemic times, the challenges of coping can become too much, or living conditions may not be sustainable – especially if a loved one needs to recuperate following an illness, fall or stay in hospital.

If this sounds familiar, it might be time to consider Respite Care or Short Term Care.

Peace of mind

At Nellsar we offer peace of mind for those needing safe, supportive and person-centred Respite Care. Our friendly Homes offer an attractive package for short stay visitors – tailored care from expert team members, excellent facilities, a wonderful choice of food and dining options, and engaging activities – all set within a homely environment, with the opportunity to relax, make friends and enjoy a restored sense of well-being.

Expert care

We take pride in the way we care for our residents. Our Care teams are on hand to support every individual’s medical and well-being needs. Whether that’s daily personal care, or simply a massage – you’re in good hands with us.

A person living with Dementia may become unsettled at times, and this can be emotionally hard to deal with. We combine safe facilities with team members’ expertise to provide individuals who have Dementia with a comforting and reassuring environment, where dignity and respect are paramount.

We also support individuals requiring post-surgery recuperation or rehabilitation, where extra focus is needed to ensure they are getting the care and attention they need while they regain their strength.

COVID Safe

Our en-suite rooms are designed to make a stay relaxing and comfortable. Each is equipped with a smart TV and residents have exclusive use of their own iPad, which can be used for music, entertainment and keeping in touch with family.

Delicious home-cooked meals

Nellsar Homes offer delicious and varied menus to tempt all tastes. Our dedicated Chefs prepare fresh home-cooked meals using local ingredients to delight our residents every day.

Our residents can choose from an enticing range of meals, snacks and delicious desserts, which cater for a wide spectrum of diets including diabetic, vegetarian and soft meals. We also offer in-room dining and support at mealtimes if required.

Tailored activities and entertainment

Our Recreation and Well-Being staff offer a wide range of activities to make every day interesting and fun. From crafts and baking, to reminiscence activities and bingo, we make sure everyone enjoys their time with us and feels engaged with whatever pastimes they choose.
